Congratulations!
Big news for Rob Cameron, President of Cameron, Smith & Company and Jenny Lees, staff accountant.  After graduating college and becoming full time employee, here at Cameron, Smith, Jenny made it her goal to take and pass the CPA exam and pass it, she did!  Congratulations to Jenny for a job well done!  Rob has become chairman of the Illinois CPA Society.  This is his 3rd year serving on the board but first service as chairman.  We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to more great news in the future!

Many independent funeral home owners have expressed their concern and uneasiness over the recent sale of Federated Funeral Directors of America to a large global consolidator, originating in France. Like most of you, Federated followed the path of a family businesss – for nearly 90 years. It appears that Federated chose a different direction with this announcement.

 

In partnership - Robert Cameron, CPA, owner of Cameron-Smith & Company of Springfield, IL, and David Nixon, owner of Nixon Consulting, Inc. of Chatham, IL have launched Heartland Funeral Solutions, LLC.

 

You will find that Heartland offers several levels of accounting and consulting services depending on your individual needs; from more traditional funeral home accounting to more computerized web-based options, from pure numbers to pricing and packaging opportunities.
